The Latin Mass with Gregorian Chant
Solemn High Mass as offered by the Priestly Fraternity of Saint Peter The Glory of the Latin Mass Captured on Film! |
||
This magnificient new video was professionally produced by Emmy Award winning writer/producer Jack Cashill and his partner in Video Post Productions, Mike Wunsch. In Janurary, 1988, they oversaw a four-camera shoot and 12 track sound recording in the historic Church of Saint Mary/Saint Anthony in Kansas City, Kansas. The Mass is the Votive Mass of Our Lady, Salve sancta parens. |

Director Wunsch comments on the over-whelming challenge of filming so sensitive a subject."This Mass was the culmination of nearly 2,000 years of Tradition, and we were responsible for creating the most beautiful representation of it ever made.""This was a real Mass," adds producer Cashill. "We couldn't just yell 'cut' and ask for another take." | ||
For close-ups, the video crew filmed the Mass and the choir a second time without the congregation. They interviewed the priests from the Priestly Fraternity and integrated their commentary into the finished product. This is a complete Mass in real time with close-ups and camera angles never before presented on film. |
